I don't get it ...

I might be old school when it comes to architecture, especially in Paris, but this time I really don't get it ?!? Can someone explain to me what was the purpose of covering this building rue St Honoré with a gigantic metallic spider's web !

They are perhaps awaiting the coming of Spiderman in Paris...

its so that people can talk about it!!!!! its just like what they did in berlin with the reichstag .......
The façades, the towers and the roof were covered by 70 tailor-made fabric panels.......completed in 1995
........what was the point of that????? and for only 14 days.............
Paris is trying to re-invent itself (its like art.....u gotta keep it fresh) ...........kinda like MADONNA ..................come on pple..........strike a pose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i thought it was cool!~ .......

I had the same reaction about this building! Maybe one day it will be known as a classic. Great photos here and a fun site. Keep up the good job.
